REGISTER NOW! Renewing Judaism: Past
“What in your own life made you feel like Judaism needed to be renewed?”
This is the question we’ll pose to Rabbis Arthur Waskow, Phyllis Berman, Jeff Roth, Marcia Prager, and Michael Strassfeld at the beginning of Renewing Judaism this Sunday.
Hear their responses to this question as a jumping off point for conversation and reflection on the origins of Jewish renewal and the early days of renewing Judaism in America. Part oral history, part roundtable conversation, this is a unique opportunity to hear the founding story of one of American Judaism’s great transformations directly from those who transformed it.
This is the first of three sessions in our Renewing Judaism series, a collaborative series with ALEPH: Alliance for Jewish Renewal, featuring beloved teachers reflecting on the past, present, and future of renewing Judaism. Registration includes all three sessions, which will be recorded and sent to registrants. See below for the full series dates and speaker lineup.
This first session is being hosted in loving memory of Hazzan Jack Kessler, Rabbi Burt Jacobson, Rabbi Michael Lerner, and all of the early Renewal shapers who have recently joined the ancestors.
