Our prophets were mighty truth tellers, poets and musicians, quiet contemplatives, seers of the future, and more. This series on “renewing the prophetic today” invites us to attune to Ruach HaKodesh, the Holy Spirit, to practice serving as vessels of the Divine as we walk in the footsteps of our prophets.
Through ancient text and contemporary spiritual practice, each class will explore a different prophetic archetype and invite us to find our own personal expression:
March 10th - Moses, who stood up to a tyrant, even though he was anxious.
March 17th - Miriam, who had the foresight to bring a timbrel, even when there wasn’t time for the dough to rise.
March 24th - Elijah, who found the still, small voice in the quiet of the cave, amidst the fire and earthquake.
While The Shalom Center has generally run programs like this in the evening (US time), this is a great chance to take an hour out of your day to drop into the realm of the prophetic. Bring a pen and paper, find a quiet corner, and we will collectively explore the gifts that our ancestral prophets hold for us today.
Given the state of the world, perhaps these times ask something ancient and urgent: are we the prophets now?
