The Sacred Earth Virtual Book Launch & Power for Purpose Climate Action Workshop — VIDEO

Earlier this month The Shalom Center joined with CCAR Press and The Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism for a night of learning and action in honor of the release of The Sacred Earth: Jewish Perspectives on Our Planet. The event combined inspiring, uplifting, and thought-provoking discussion of Jewish understandings of our relationship to the earth with energizing pathways to action.

For those who were not able to join us live, we are are pleased to be able to share video of the event, which can be viewed at:

A highlight of the evening was to be able to move from study into action together through the RAC's Power for Purpose Climate Action campaign. During the webinar our RAC friends guided us through a quick and simple action that you, too, can also join! The White House is accepting comments until August 8 on proposed EPA rules to limit carbon pollution from power plants — take this moment to go to http://rac.org/p4paction and register your support today!

In the webinar we were joined by four of the book's contributing authors, but the book includes many more — among them The Shalom Center’s Rabbis Arthur Waskow (Founder & Director), Nate DeGroot (Associate Director), and Mordechai Liebling (Board Member). To enjoy the fullness of what all the contributors bring to the subject, we also encourage you to the buy the book at http://sacredearth.ccarpress.org!
